Photographic Retrospective 2023

Posted on

One of my resolutions for 2023 was to share more articles on this blog. Now the 2023 Retrospective is my first blog post of the year and it’s probably fair to say that I didn’t fulfill this resolution – even though 2023 was an interesting and diverse year for my photography.

Of course I took headshots and portraits, but this retrospective will mainly be about the more unusual photos and events.

The retrospective begins with a photo shoot for the Freies Orchester Berlin and guest soloist Timon Paege. The Freie Orchester Berlin is a symphony orchestra in which ambitious amateurs from various professions play.
The photos were taken during the orchestra’s 2023 winter concert. This was my second time accompanying the orchestra, having already shot two winter concerts in 2020 shortly before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

In spring, I organized and led a photo walk for the first time. It was an absolutely exciting experience for me to not only apply my knowledge instinctively, but to actively pass it on to the participants. Later, I led a workshop on flash photography with the same participants.

I plan to organize more workshops like this next year. Keep an eye out for dates on Instagram or here on the blog!

I also (metaphorically) dusted off my beloved Sigma 150-600mm lens, which I unfortunately use far too rarely in everyday life. In 2023 it saw use in the zoo and on some walks.

This year I was also able to accompany SOFTGAMES with my camera on two company retreats in Gran Canaria. The atmosphere, the locations and especially the employees made these trips an unforgettable experience.

I would like to thank all the models, customers and participants of the photo workshops for an exciting 2023 and I am looking forward to a 2024 that should and will top this once again! Also I can already promise one thing: The 2024 annual retrospective will not be the next entry in this blog.

Last but not least, a note on my own behalf: If you are looking for a great picture for your wall, then take a look at Displate, where you will find some of my pictures. I can recommend the absolutely high-quality metal prints with a clear conscience. CLICK!
